My goal as your counselor is to create a supportive environment where you can explore your emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit your full potential. I work with individuals and couples, and take a multi-dimensional and open-minded approach to client wellness. With this in mind I am respectfully considerate of each client’s experience of the world as it pertains to areas such as, racial and cultural background, family traditions, spiritual beliefs, sexual identity, and gender expression.
I view therapy as a tool that can help you discover and learn about previous helpful ways that you have learned to cope with challenging circumstances. Together we can assess whether those coping skills are still valuable to you. If not, I can assist you in developing insight into acquiring new ways of coping, behaving, and thinking that are more satisfying and affirming to you. I will help you identify feelings and develop coping strategies for managing current situations.
Together we will focus on your resiliency, strengths, and goals. In this respect, therapy is a journey that you navigate while I offer support and guidance.
